Until just recently, NW Hills has probably been the best kept secret in Austin. First of all, high marks go to its close-in position--inside of Loop 360 and Hwy. 183. The neighborhood has always been well-known to locals (Michael Dell lived around this corner from this house for years). The area is beginning to see a spike in values. About The Neighborhood
There is an advantage you may not realize here unless you are thinking long term. This part of town is very hilly and many houses are on streets with steep inclines. The grid of streets around Woodway are nice and level which is ideal if you want to go for a walk with your S.O. or children in the evening. Have you ever had a dog that is part of your family? As they get older, one of their joys is an evening walk--easy with all the flat surface streets in this area. All of the hills in the valleys below NW Hills are where all the cute deer come from. We've had a bumper crop of fawns this year. If you have young children, can you imagine the excitement of having a baby deer born in the front yard! This particular yard is part of a larger ecosystem. There are fifteen trees in the back yard, five more in front. NW Hills is a critter haven--songbirds, raccoons, possums, feisty squirrels and foxes.

Longtime residents in the area love the convenience. Just a few blocks from the house there are two grocery stores, two drug stores, multiple dry cleaners, a Starbucks and restaurants with specialty food like Vietnamese, BBQ, Chinese, Indian, a cafeteria and more. The elementary, junior high and high schools are all in the neighborhood.
